We Need a New Political Party

rodeo!!In my retirement I have had the luxury (or curse) of watching the entire election unfold in the media with my satellite Television and internet. I am not surprised at the result and had the popular vote held sway it would have been still an unappetizing result in need of a thorough emetic (this means Trump and Clinton both made me nauseous). I voted third party to avoid the choice of the lesser of two evils—which would have still been choosing evil in my book. Trump is choosing a cabinet that is the text book “Military Industrial Complex,” that Dwight Eisenhower warned us against. He may be their Trojan horse. Therefore, this is my conclusion:
• We need a new political party in the United States that out front says all corruption is criminal. This party must be willing to expose, litigate, and prosecute any form of election fraud, lobbyist legislative fraud, and unconstitutional government policy.
• We need a new third party that is not like either current Republican, or Democrat Parties or anti-progressive Libertarians, or the sub-cultural Marxists of the Green Party, but instead a party that can draw a diverse crowd of working class Americans from all walks and ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
• We need a party that will uphold working class Americans and Unions that have not sold out to a malaise of the bloated entitled party machine hacks that have sold us into the slavery of globalism and planned austerity to make our wages eventually compete with foreign cheap labor.
• We need a party that is inclusive to all factions, but knows that identifying underserved factions is not enough, and that it has to bring Americans back to economic notions of FDR, Truman, and Eisenhower. This must also include those political heroes like Martin Luther King and Caesar Chavez that championed the tenants of the civil rights movement. We need to revisit those factors that propelled us after World War II to become the most prosperous nation in world history.
• We need a new party that holds that “planned austerity” is antithetical to this nation.
• We need a party that treats racism as the pariah of humanity that it is; but knows that some folks cannot be brought uncensoriously into the light.
• We need a party that labels all humans of good will in this nation as brothers and sisters—and that none of these are deplorable.
• We need a party that breaks off the wrapping of labels of socialism, capitalism and labeling them strictly good and evil either way. Such a party would default to ‘the good of the nation’ rather than hackneyed ideology of either the left or the right.
• We need a party that will tolerate a Pro life or a Pro choice constituency and agrees to sit down and do the hard work of making abortion infrequent and never birth control. This should be a task, while there is the abiding reality that courts and science may decide; one way the other when human development becomes a person and has constitutional rights—currently there is no solid legal notion of this.
• We need a party that knows welfare must be a helping hand and not a way of life and that fathers are just as important in rearing children as mothers rather than creating a planned great demographic of single mothers. We need single mothers to be treated with respect and dignity and the rights to raise their children outside of abject poverty.
• We need a party that allows faith to be tolerated and does not malign either Catholic or Protestant Evangelical Christians or Muslims or anyone else—at the behest of a subjective current notion of secular humanism, that has become a religion in and of itself. This must include the tenant that, ‘freedom of religion includes freedom from religion.’
• We need a party that knows that a nation that controls the abject greed of Capitalism is good.
• We need a party that knows the social inroads and safety net of the “New Deal” are good and cannot be amended under the mere subjective charge of “socialist policy.”
• We need a party that knows crony Capitalistic monopolies that finance lobbyists to buy politicians and write national or state legislation is bad for the nation.
• We need a party that knows Social Security and Medicare are essential and that single payer health care is a human right that other successful democracies have intelligently implemented into their culture.
• We need a party that knows that life expectancy among Americans with current social, political, and healthcare policy is declining—this new party would run to correct this crisis.
• We need a dynamic new political party that wants to kick down doors of indifference to the poor, and intolerance toward downtrodden classes.
• We need a party that has the intelligence to know business and religion are noble players in a process of democracy, but that neither should ever run the government of the people of the United States, nor should they have undue influence.
• We need a party is neither dismissive of the aging class; nor afraid to challenge the failed policies a younger generation is being saddled with.
• We need a party that recognizes economic rights much like those rights FDR recognized who said: “In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all — regardless of station, race, or creed. Among these are:
o “The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;
o The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
o The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;
o The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;
o The right of every family to a decent home;
o The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;
o The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;
o The right to a good education.
o All of these rights spell security.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt
• Finally, we need a party that knows our environment is a prime directing concern. Knowing this means that forests, bodies of water, rivers, our air, drinking water, mountains, and heartland farms are our life’s being; and that closely examined, settled science, that everyone can understand should be the decision factor on environmental policy rather than popular sentiment, or Corporate will. These sound decisions about our future living space must prevail.
We need a new political party—the two existing ones no longer serve the great nation of the United States. God help us all. Should Senator Bernie Sanders, Independent from Vermont begin this party, his following would be instant.
